Free Talk:
Block B, flagbearing group of Brand New Stardom found themselves embroiled in controversy this week after their usual misbehavior in interviews crossed the line. The boys were in Thailand for a charity concert to benefit the victims of the Thai floods and they acted in a disrespectful manner unbecoming of junior idols & foreign representatives. Zico made comments that made light of the situation there and when the Korean media grabbed hold of it, the whole thing mutated out of anyone’s control. We believe that was done was rude and disrespectful, and they deserve to be disciplined. There are many disturbing rumors circulating, that there was a suicide petition circulated that contributed to youngest member PO being hospitalized for a stress-induced breakdown, to that this petition was faked by the agency to garner sympathy. Whatever the cause, we hope they will reflect on their actions and come back a more respectful group.

Been really busy with school for the past few weeks and now, with a bit of free time…I’m going to be catching up with all the episodes I’ve missed!
I can’t wait to listen to this, especially as you guys are talking about the Block B controversy.
Thanks
Thanks for listening, Sally!
The one thing that wasn’t mention about the “Blue” MV that was terrible was the bandana Taeyang was wearing lol. The roller coaster in the video was the “Cyclone” from Coney Island in New York City. The ride is decent (I live in New York so I have been on it) for being around since the 1920′s but its a NYC landmark so that is probably why it’s in the video.
Hopefully the Block B situation blows over soon. It just seems since their debut they have been having obstacles one after another. They seem like they can’t catch a break.
PS: I am not one of the people who emailed you girls this past week that is mentioned in this latest podcast. I am actually a guy lol
Yes, that bandanna was horrible. I chose to forget about it – call it selective memory, because it was really something I could do without LOL. And my apologies, I really thought it was you! I was bone tired when we recorded that day, so I was kinda out of it… but thank you for letting me know about it =)
As for Block B, I feel really bad for them. No one deserves crap after they have apologized over and over. I think it’s best for them right now to just keep a low profile for their own good. The issue will eventually die down, and I hope it happens soon.

I feel so bad for Block B. I just do not think that what they did warranted this extreme of a reaction. Yes it was bad, but not nearly bad enough for all of this drama. I have a horrible feeling that they won’t be able to come back from this. They weren’t that popular to begin with, and this has just made it exponentially more difficult for them to climb the mountain that is the kpop music industry.
I’m not feeling Big Bang at all so far. I’m hoping some of the other songs on the album catch my attention. If I’m honest, I wasn’t crazy about their last mini either except for Cafe. They got me into kpop and for the longest they were the only group I knew of (or cared to know of) so I think I went along with it out of loyalty lol. This time around I’m gonna need them to bring the goods though.
I have sort of the same feelings about Big Bang right now. After listening to their new mini album (which is much better than last mini album) even though it is some good stuff, it did not meet my expectation. “Cafe” from their last mini album is my favorite song from them by far and I was hoping just a little in my heart that “Alive” would sound similar to it but of course it did not happen. For a group who want to be seen more like a “Hip-Hop” act sort of and less like idols, I thought maybe “Cafe” was a huge step in that direction. However, this new mini album isn’t the sound I was looking for. I don’t dislike it, like I said before “Alive” is good (except for the MVs and their wardrobe choices) but its not what I wanted.
Having listened to the entire album, I personally like it… simply because it’s a toned down release from the group. Maybe my expectations for their comeback wasn’t really high, but that’s just me. Let’s see what Dame Dr. Foxy Brown thinks
